The Human Resources Generalist will provide support all Human Resources functional areas, including recruitment, employee relations, performance evaluations, benefits, HRIS, on-boarding, training, and special projects.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 
 Ability to organize and prioritize work, assisting in the coordination of the work of other team members as needed;

 Advanced computer and technical skills, including the use of MS Office Suite and other HRIS systems;

 Ability to effectively provide team members and others with information, training and assistance as needed;

 Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills;

 Ability to multitask; excellent communication, time management, planning and problem solving skills required; 

 Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail; 

 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines; 

 Demonstrate sound research, interpretive and problem solving abilities. 

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

 Regularly scheduled office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm.  At times, as business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job.

o While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; 

o The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10lbs and;

o Specific vision abilities are required within this position. 

 Occasional travel (approximately 10% or less) may be required in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledgeable of federal and state laws related to wage and hour laws, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, workers’ compensation, I-9 requirements, COBRA, etc.
  • Informs and educates employees and management about Human Resources policies, procedures, performance management, recruitment, and employee relations issues
  • Recommends, coordinates, and delivers Human Resources related training for management and employees
  • Assists in the HR Department budget and fiscal planning with regards to applicable areas
  • Provides indirect supervisory responsibilities to applicable staff, including coaching, feedback on performance, and other duties as required
  • Recommends updates to company policies, including the Employee Handbook, regularly to ensure compliance with current employment laws and regulations
  • Assist in organizational development, compensation planning and the successful completion of the employee performance review process
  • Effectively maintains working relationships with outside vendors, including staffing agencies, brokers, and benefit providers
  • Work directly with employees and management on employee relations’ issues; provide coaching as needed; prepares disciplinary documentation for delivery
  • Supports and administers the company’s benefit programs including monthly reconciliation, coordination of the company open enrollment process and assistance with the annual renewal process
  • Assist in the successful onboarding of new hires and conducts exit interviews
  • Ability to handle and resolve confidential/sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Develop and maintain an atmosphere throughout the organization to ensure that employees are comfortable asking questions and/or requesting support
  • Assist in the development and training of new team members as required
  • Continually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; internal company and team trainings; maintains personal networks; participates in professional development opportunities
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in the Human Resources field to include experience in recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration and training; PHR or SHRM-CP highly preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Work and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines
